Description

Located in the constellation Cassiopeia Abell 85 (LBN 576) is a remnant of a supernove in a larger HII region. 
It is approximately 98 light-years in diameter and lies 9,780 light-years from Earth and is approximatly 10,000 years old.
It was dicovered by George Abell in 1955 and he classified it as a planetary nebula in error. It was later reclassified.
